I get A LOT of music sent to my inbox. Most of it is destined for the Trash. But sometimes, an artist strikes a chord (no pun intended) and I wonder why more people aren’t blogging about them. A.J. fits that bill.

A.J. Roach’s album is called Revelation. The cover is a musical take on the Four Horsemen. Both are fitting for this 11 song release. Religion is the hidden spring running under and bubbling up in the songs.

Roach hails from the same area in Virginia as the Carter Family and the Stanley Brothers. A true roots music Mecca. The Appalachian-style is prevalent on Revelation both in instrumentation, vocal harmonies and lyrics.
